6月19日，美国杜肯大学（Duquesne University）魏新超教授应韩跃新教授邀请来我院进行学术交流，并在科学馆201建龙学术报告厅为矿物工程系师生带来了一场题为“Leadership and International Vision”的精彩学术报告。本次报告会由矿物工程系主任孙永升教授主持，作为学院建院30周年系列学术活动之一。

报告中，魏新超教授以其丰富的职业发展经历为切入点，提出卓越领导者培养的“三步法则”——“Yes, You Can”（自信建立）、“Yes, You Will”（行动承诺）和“Yes, You Must”（责任担当），鼓励青年师生在全球化的时代背景下勇于突破自我、把握发展机遇。魏教授以生动的案例和互动提问形式，深入浅出地阐释了领导力的核心内涵。同时，他还系统分享了职业发展的关键要素：追求卓越、承担适度风险，以及通过持续积累实现人生目标。

报告会现场气氛热烈，师生们就“全球化视野下的领导力培养”“矿业学科国际化发展路径”等问题与魏教授展开了深入探讨。本次报告会拓展了师生的国际视野，为推进我院国际化人才培养、深化国际科研合作、促进矿业学科创新发展注入了新动能。

魏新超教授简介：

Xinchao (Steven) Wei, Ph.D, P.E. is currently the Associate Dean and an endowed professor in the School of Science and Engineering at Duquesne University (DUQ). From 2017 to 2023, Dr. Wei was the Founding Director and a professor in School of Engineering at Slippery Rock University (SRU), Slippery Rock, building four ABET accredited engineering programs from the ground up. He was the founding faculty member serving as the Program Coordinator of Civil Engineering at The State University of New York Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly), Utica, NY, from 2011 to 2017. Prior to SUNY Poly, Dr. Wei was a research faculty member in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at West Virginia University (WVU), Morgantown, WV, for five years. Before coming to the U.S., he was a faculty member in Northeastern University (NEU), Shenyang, China, for six years. In addition, Dr. Wei has been a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) since 2007, currently licensed in the State of WV. Dr. Wei’s research is in the area of water quality and environmental chemistry, water and wastewater treatment, nanoparticles and their application in environmental engineering, solid and hazardous waste treatment, and environmental sustainability. His research was funded by various federal and state agencies. He published more than 30 research papers in prestigious journals.
