为庆祝学院建院20周年,应资源与土木工程学院朱万成教授邀请,澳大利亚塔斯马尼亚大学刘红元博士于2015年10月22日在老校部348采矿所会议室作了题目为“Hybrid continuous-discontinuous modelling of dynamic fracture of rock under impact loads and resultant fragment arching”的学术报告,朱万成教授主持了报告会,采矿工程和土木工程专业教师、研究生和本科学生共60余人参加了本次报告会。

岩石力学数值模拟方法中由连续到非连续的扩展是近年来研究的热点问题,刘红元博士在报告中指出,虽然传统的连续介质力学在解决岩石力学问题中有比较广泛的应用,但是无法解决岩石断裂造成的非连续性问题,而离散元在解决岩石力学问题中受到计算能力的限制。刘红元博士应用C++与OpenGL软件实现了连续与非连续方法的融合计算,并通过经典的霍普金森压杆试验和巴西盘劈裂试验进行了数值模拟验证。

报告人简介:
Dr Hong Yuan Liu completed his PhD at Lulea University of Technology (LTU), Sweden in 2004 and his Masters and Bachelor degrees at Northeastern University (NEU), China in 2000 and 1997, respectively. After that, he worked as a researcher associate at LTU for about 1.5 years to conduct several research and consulting projects on mechanical drilling and cutting funded by SGU, LKAB, SKB and Altas Copco Secoroc AB. In 2006, he moved to Australia and worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Sydney to undertake a tunneling project funded by ARC. In 2008, he joined in the University of Queensland as a researcher fellow to study tunnelling in weak rock mass and soil improvement using wick drain. Since 2010, he has been working as a lecturer in geomechanics at School of Engineering and ICT, University of Tasmania to lead the geotechnical engineering stream and teach subjects such as rock and soil mechanics.
