Dr. Xianzheng Guo is currently an Associate Professor at Northeastern University. His research focuses on magmatic–hydrothermal ore deposits, metallogeny, and mineral exploration, with special emphasis on the super-enrichment mechanisms and mineralization of critical metals such as cobalt, tellurium, and lithium.
He received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), and undertook joint Ph.D. research at the University of Tasmania, Australia. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher and then as an Associate Research Fellow at Hefei University of Technology from 2020 to 2026, before joining Northeastern University in July 2026.
Dr. Guo has led several competitive research projects, including the General Program and Young Scientists Fund (Category C) of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a thematic project of the National Science and Technology Major Project on Deep Earth, and the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. He has published more than 20 papers as first or corresponding author in prestigious journals such as Geoscience Frontiers, Ore Geology Reviews, and Acta Petrologica Sinica.
