Mr. Fu is among the first cohort of Bachelor’s graduates majoring in Environmental Engineering at Northeastern University (China). He earned his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees from Northeastern University in 1998, 2001 and 2013 respectively.Upon completing his undergraduate studies in 1998, he worked as an Assistant Engineer at Shenyang Aluminum and Magnesium Engineering & Research Institute for three years. This industrial stint granted him hands-on practical experience in alumina production, electrolytic aluminum manufacturing, and broader non-ferrous metallurgy sectors.
In 2001, he returned to Northeastern University to pursue his Master’s degree. After graduating from the Master’s program in March 2004, he joined the university’s faculty and has remained on staff ever since. Mr. Fu delivers core courses across undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs:
•Undergraduate: Air Pollution Control Engineering for Environmental Engineering majors
•Master’s students: Recycling and Regeneration Technologies for Spent Energy Storage Batteries
•Doctoral students: Principles and State-of-the-Art Technologies for Contemporary Safe Water Resource Utilization
His primary research focuses cover three core areas: Advanced Oxidation Process wastewater treatment, solid waste treatment and resource recovery, as well as the synthesis and practical application of environmental functional materials. His ongoing research centers on technologies for recycling and regenerating spent lithium-ion batteries.
He welcomes applications from prospective students with basic Chinese language proficiency who hold research interests in advanced oxidation wastewater treatment and solid waste resource recovery. He also invites scholars with aligned research interests to engage in academic exchanges and joint research collaborations in related fields.
