Prof. Xu Xinyang is a professor and doctoral supervisor of environmental engineering at Northeastern University. Prof. Xu has been awarded the Outstanding Young University Teacher by the Huo Yingdong Education Foundation, selected for the Hundred Talents Tier of Liaoning Provincial Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talents Project, and recognized as Outstanding Young Backbone Teacher of Institutions of Higher Education in Liaoning Province and Distinguished Teacher of Northeastern University.
His research interests include theories and technologies of wastewater treatment, resource utilization of solid waste, and solid-liquid separation of fine material slurry. In recent years, he has served as chief investigator and participated in more than 20 research projects, covering the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National 10th Five-Year Key S&T Projects.
He has won the First Prize of Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. He has published more than 100 papers and authored four textbooks: Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development, Wastewater Treatment Engineering Design, Course of Environmental Impact Assessment and Gold Engineering Design Course. He also co-authored monographs including Solid-Liquid Separation and Introduction to Environmental Science and Engineering. Among his works, Course of Environmental Impact Assessment received the Second Prize for Excellent Textbook awarded by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Publications.
