Liping Qiao

Liping Qiao is currently an Associate Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Northeastern University. She received her Doctor of Geotechanical Engineering degree from the Wuhan Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2008. From 2008 to 2009 and 2016 to 2017, she conducted academic research as a visiting scholar at the University of Calgary and the University of Western Australia, respectively. She served as a lecture in Shandong University during 2009 to 2017. Her research focuses on multi-field coupling behaviors of fractured rock masses, underground energy storage (including oil, natural gas and CO₂ geological storage), long-term stability of geotechnical engineering structures, and environmental geotechnical engineering.
