Dr. Yumei Kang is an Associate Professor at Northeastern University. She received her B.S. in Mine Construction (1997), M.S. in Structural Engineering (2003), and Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics (2009) from Northeastern University, and was a visiting scholar at the University of Tasmania, Australia (2013–2014). Her research focuses on concrete structures, structural health monitoring and damage assessment, and structural reliability and risk analysis. She has led or participated in over ten research projects sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Science and Technology Support Program, the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, the Natural Science Foundation of Liaoning Province, and other funding bodies. She has published more than 20 papers in journals such as the Chinese Journal of Rock Mechanics and Engineering, Rock and Soil Mechanics, and Key Engineering Materials, with many of them indexed by SCI, EI, and ISTP.
