
Shaolong Qin, Lecturer in Mining Engineering, Northeastern University. His research interests focus on deep underground metal mining, mining-induced ground pressure hazards, and ground control in deep metal mines. He has published 25 academic papers, including 11 indexed in SCI/EI, and has been granted 12 Chinese invention patents. He is the recipient of the First Prize of the Liaoning Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, the First Prize of the Metallurgical Science and Technology Awardof the China Iron and Steel Association, and the Second Prize of the China Gold Association Science and Technology Award. He has participated as a major contributor in national, provincial, and ministerial research projects, including a Key Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and a National Science and Technology Major Project for Deep-Earth Research, as well as more than 20 industry-sponsored research projects commissioned by mining enterprises.
