Xiaochuan Xu, Research Fellow and Doctoral Supervisor at Northeastern University, and Deputy General Manager of China National Gold Group's Digital Intelligence Company. His honors include Shenyang Leading Talent, Northeastern University Class A Outstanding Young Talent, and two youth science and technology awards. His research covers open-pit mine optimization, mine ecology, and intelligent mining. He leads several national and provincial first-class courses, including the national first-class undergraduate courses Mining Science, Resource Economics, and Virtual Simulation Experiment for Open-Pit Mining. As project leader, he has directed over ten major projects, including those from the NSFC and National Key R&D Programs. He has won 13 first-prize provincial and ministerial-level science and technology awards, eight national teaching awards, and four provincial teaching prizes. He has published over 100 papers (more than 30 SCI-indexed and 21 EI-indexed), holds over 40 software copyrights and more than 10 patents, co-authored three national planning textbooks, and authored two monographs on open-pit mine optimization.
