Honglei Liu, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, is a Shenyang Municipal Leading Talent. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics from Northeastern University and conducted postdoctoral research under a joint program between Northeastern University and Shandong Gold Group. He has published more than 100 academic papers on the theoretical and experimental studies of rock mass instability and failure, seepage mechanics, water-induced weakening and damage mechanisms of rocks, and mine ground pressure monitoring and control, of which more than 50 were published as first author or corresponding author, with 10 indexed by SCI and 16 by EI. He holds more than 50 granted invention patents. He has led more than ten government-funded research projects and undertaken more than ten industry-sponsored research projects commissioned by Shandong Gold Group, Zhaojin Group, Ansteel Mining, Hebei Iron & Steel Group, and other enterprises. He has received nine provincial and ministerial-level science and technology awards. He currently serves as a member of the Rock Fragmentation Engineering Committee of the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering, a think tank expert of the China Green and Intelligent Mining Network, and a peer reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
