Lianchong Li, Professor, Northeastern University. From 2003 to 2004, he worked as a Research Assistant at The University of Hong Kong and City University of Hong Kong. Between 2011 and 2013, he conducted postdoctoral research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), USA.
His current research focuses on the evolution mechanism of mining-induced ground pressure, fluid–solid coupling mechanisms in fractured rock masses, and the prevention and control of sudden collapses and water inrush disasters. He has served as Principal Investigator for five projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and two sub-projects of the National Science and Technology Major Project, and has led over 40 industry-commissioned research projects. He has received two first prizes and five second prizes of provincial/ministerial-level science and technology awards, been granted 35 national invention patents, and published over 150 academic papers.
