Gao Wenyuan is a Lecturer and Master's Supervisor in the Department of Geology, School of Resources and Civil Engineering, Northeastern University. Dr. Gao's research focuses on genetic mineralogy, ore-deposit mineralogy, and the occurrence, migration, and enrichment mechanisms of strategic critical metals. His work also encompasses micro- to nanoscale mineral characterization and the comprehensive utilization of mineral resources.
He has served as Principal Investigator for six research projects, including grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and has participated in more than ten national, provincial, ministerial, and industry-sponsored research programs. His research findings have been published in over 20 SCI-indexed papers in leading international journals, including American Mineralogist, Lithos, Ore Geology Reviews, Journal of Asian Earth Sciences, Science Advances, and Minerals. In addition, he holds six authorized invention patents.
Dr. Gao is actively involved in academic service and currently serves on several professional committees, including those of the Chinese Society for Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry, the Geological Academic Committee of the China Nonferrous Metals Society, and the Youth Working Committee of the Liaoning Geological Society. He is also a Youth Editorial Board Member of Mineral Exploration and an Associate Editor of Genetic Mineralogy.
His contributions to research and education have been recognized through numerous awards, including the Second Prize of the Liaoning Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, the Second Prize of the Green Mine Science and Technology Award, the Second Prize of the Science and Technology Award of the China Gold Association, and the Second Prize in the National Young University Teachers' Geological Course Teaching Competition.
