Junhong Liang

Liang Junhong, born in October 1972 in Yangquan, ShanxiProvince, is a lecturer in the Department of Geology. He received a B.Sc. in Mining Prospecting and Exploration from Northeastern University in 1996. He continued his postgraduate studies at the School of Resources and Civil Engineering, Northeastern University, earning both a master’s and a doctoral degree by 2002.

Liang developed an early interest in Mesozoic terrestrial stratigraphic sedimentology and lithofacies paleogeography. He led the Central University Basic Research Project “Source Studies of Clastic Rocks in the Yixian Formation of the Early Cretaceous in Western Liaoning” and contributed to a National Natural Science Foundation general project, publishing over ten scientific papers in Chinese journals.

He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses, including Geomorphology and Quaternary GeologyMineral Resource Economic Evaluation and Metallogenic Regularities and Prediction. He also supervises geological fieldwork in the Liujiang Basin and Xingcheng area.
