Hou Zhenlong was born in 1988 in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China. He is currently an Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Department of Geology in the School of Resources and Civil Engineering at Northeastern University.
Dr. Hou received his B.Sc. degree in Geophysics from Jilin University in 2011 and earned his Ph.D. in Computer System Architecture from Jilin University in 2016. During his doctoral studies, he was jointly supervised by the renowned geophysicist Professor Huang Danian and computer scientist Professor Wei Xiaohui.
He currently serves as an Editorial Board Member of Applied Geophysics, an international SCI-indexed journal, and as a reviewer for several SCI-indexed journals. He is also a member of the Submarine Science Branch of the Chinese Society of Oceanography and the Youth Working Committee of the Liaoning Geological Society.
Dr. Hou's research focuses on the integration of geophysics, high-performance computing, and artificial intelligence. His primary research interests include 3D inversion and parallel computing of large-scale gravity and magnetic data, geoscience big data analytics and artificial intelligence, and geoscience software development. His work aims to advance computational methods and intelligent technologies for geological interpretation, mineral resource exploration, and Earth system studies.
