
Professor Huang’s research focuses on genetic mineralogy, prospecting mineralogy, ore deposit geochemistry, mineral resource evaluation, and the theory and technology of mineral resource utilization. She has led three projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, as well as more than ten additional government- and industry-sponsored projects.
Her expertise encompasses the genesis of a wide range of deposit types—including magmatic, hydrothermal, sedimentary-metamorphic, skarn, sedimentary manganese, and seafloor sulfide deposits—as well as the evaluation and utilization of mineral resources. Professor Huang emphasizes the integration of mineralogical theory with practical applications in mineral exploration and resource development.
She has received 16 teaching achievement awards from Liaoning Province and Northeastern University. Her course General Geology has been recognized as both a Liaoning Provincial Quality Course and a Liaoning Provincial Quality Resource Course. She has also been honored as one of Northeastern University’s “Most Beloved Teachers”and as a Distinguished Teacher of Northeastern University.
Professor Huang serves on multiple professional committees of the Chinese Society for Mineralogy, Petrology, and Geochemistry, and acts as an expert reviewer for academic journals and geological education organizations. She has published over 100 papers in journals and conference proceedings, holds 27 authorized invention patents, and has participated in academic exchanges in Australia, Japan, Hungary, and other countries.
