
Xiaolong Zhang is an Associate Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Northeastern University. He currently serves as Deputy Director of the Department of Mineral Engineering and has been selected as a Shenyang Leading Talent.
His research focuses on the theory and technology of selective grinding control for mineral resources, as well as the green development and utilization of refractory mineral resources. He has led 15 research projects, including NSFC General and Young Scientists Fund projects, sub-projects under the National Key R&D Program of China, sub-tasks of national deep-earth major projects, provincial natural science foundation projects, and enterprise-sponsored technology development projects.
Professor Zhang has published more than 60 academic papers, including over 40 as first or corresponding author and more than 30 SCI-indexed papers. He has applied for or obtained more than 20 national invention patents, including two international invention patents. His achievements have been recognized with several scientific and teaching awards, including the Second Prize of Liaoning Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, First Prize of China Metallurgical Mine Science and Technology Award, Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation of Liaoning Province, National Excellent Innovative and Entrepreneurial Postdoctoral Fellow, and major provincial and university-level teaching achievement awards.
