
Cong Han is an Associate Professor and Doctoral Supervisor. He received his jointly trained Ph.D. degree from Northeastern University and CSIRO, and has been recognized as a Leading Talent of Shenyang.
His research focuses on metallic ore flotation theory and technology, mineral materials, and interfacial interaction simulation and modeling. As principal investigator, he has led a range of research projects, including one NSFC General Program, one sub-project of the National Key R&D Program of China, one sub-project of the National Deep-Earth Exploration Major Project, one Liaoning Provincial Natural Science Foundation Doctoral Startup Fund, one open fund from a State Key Laboratory, two Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities projects, and six enterprise-sponsored collaborative projects. As a core participant, he has contributed to more than 20 national, provincial, and industry-sponsored research projects, including NSFC General Programs, China’s 973 Program, the National High-tech R&D Program, and national key R&D sub-projects.
Professor Han has published more than 50 SCI-indexed papers and over ten EI-indexed or Chinese core journal papers, co-authored three monographs, and obtained 12 authorized Chinese invention patents. His honors include the First Prize of the Green Mine Science and Technology Award for Basic Research, the Second Prize of the Outstanding Research Award of Chinese Universities issued by the Ministry of Education, and the Third Prize of the Science and Technology Award of the China General Chamber of Commerce.
He serves on the Editorial Board of Frontiers in Materials and the Young Editorial Boards of Chinese Journal of Engineering and Conservation and Utilization of Mineral Resources. He is also a regular reviewer for journals including Journal of Materials Research and Technology, Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, Powder Technology, Hydrometallurgy, and Transactions of Nonferrous Metals Society of China.
Professor Han teaches undergraduate courses including Testing Techniques in Mineral Processing and Numerical Simulation of Mineral Processing, as well as two postgraduate courses. Testing Techniques in Mineral Processing has been accredited as a provincial first-class undergraduate course. His students have won national and provincial awards in discipline competitions. He recruits 1–2 doctoral candidates and 1–2 master’s students annually.
