Zhidong Tang is a Specially Appointed Research Fellow and Doctoral Supervisor at Northeastern University. He has been selected for several national and provincial talent programs, including the Youth Talent Support Program of the China Association for Science and Technology, the National Innovative and Entrepreneurial Excellent Postdoctoral Program, the Liaoning Excellent Youth Fund, and the Northeastern University Excellent Young Scholar Program.
His research focuses on the development of novel technologies and equipment for the high-efficiency utilization of complex refractory ores, as well as the green comprehensive utilization of iron-bearing solid wastes.
Professor Tang has led 17 research projects, including General and Young Scientists Fund projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, sub-projects under the National Key R&D Program of China, subtopics of national major science and technology projects, and the Liaoning Excellent Youth Project. He has also participated in two NSFC Key Projects, two NSFC General Projects, two National Key R&D Program projects, and more than ten enterprise-sponsored research projects.
He has published more than 30 SCI-indexed papers as first or corresponding author, including two ESI Hot and Highly Cited Papers, and has filed 23 Chinese invention patents.
