Zhitao Yuan is a Professor with a doctoral degree and a recipient of the New Century Excellent Talent Program of the Ministry of Education.
His research focuses on the efficient separation and utilization of metal ores, mineral material preparation, and ultrafine powder technology, with emphasis on magnetic separation for metal ore beneficiation. He has developed a series of core magnetic separation technologies and equipment, including digital pulse demagnetizers, pulse-vibrating magnetic separation columns, high-intensity roller magnetic separators for red ore pre-concentration, and permanent magnet high-gradient magnetic separators. He has also developed key pre-concentration processes based on high-pressure grinding, ultrafine crushing, and dry fluidized magnetic separation for extremely lean magnetite and hematite ores.
Professor Yuan teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in mineral processing. His undergraduate teaching includes Solid Material Separation, while his postgraduate teaching covers Magnetic System and Magnetic Circuit Design. He also supervises undergraduate production practice in magnetic separation and undergraduate graduation projects. As principal investigator, he has led one project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and one project supported by the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities. He has also participated in more than 30 research projects, including National 863 Program projects, provincial and municipal research projects, and enterprise-sponsored collaborative projects.Professor Yuan has published more than 100 academic papers. He has authored two monographs, Magnetic and Electric Mineral Processing and Sustainable Utilization Technology of Resources, and co-authored three monographs, including Modern Mineral Processing Technology and Equipment in the World..
