PengGao is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Northeastern University. He is a recipient of the National Young Talents Program and serves as Chief Scientist of a National Key R&D Program project. He is currently Vice Dean of the School of Resources and Civil Engineering and Deputy Director of the National Key Laboratory of Mineral Processing Science and Technology, Northeastern University.
His research focuses on the efficient development and utilization of strategic metal mineral resources. He has led more than 30 research projects, including the National Key R&D Program project “Development and Utilization of Strategic Mineral Resources”. He has made significant contributions to the clean utilization of refractory polymetallic iron ores and the resource recycling of iron-bearing solid wastes.
Professor Gao has published more than 100 academic papers, authored three monographs, and been granted over 40 international and national invention patents. His achievements have been recognized with one Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and five First Prizes of Provincial and Ministerial Science and Technology Awards.
