
Tianhong Yang, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, School of Resources and Civil Engineering, Northeastern University. His research focuses on the prevention and control of sudden caving and inrush in mining-induced rock masses, as well as slope engineering stability. He has received the Liaoning Provincial Youth Science and Technology Award and the Youth Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering. He was selected for the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University by the Ministry of Education, is a national-level candidate of the Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talents Project, and holds the State Council Special Government Allowance.
Professor Yang has led over 20 research projects, including those supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and sub-projects under its major programs. As a principal contributor, he has won one Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, ten First Prizes and ten Second Prizes of Provincial/Ministerial Science and Technology Progress Awards, two Second Prizes of Provincial/Ministerial Natural Science Awards, and two First Prizes of Provincial/Ministerial Teaching Achievement Awards.
