Xingdong Zhao, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, is a National High-Level Leading Talent. His other honors and roles include Expert Entitled to the Special Government Allowance of the State Council, Principal Investigator of a National Science and Technology Major Project for Deep-Earth Research, Chair of the Committee on Deep-Earth Mine Construction and Resource Development of the Nonferrous Metals Society of China, and Director of the Key Laboratory of Mining-Induced Ground Pressure Hazard Prevention and Control in Deep Metal Mines under the National Mine Safety Administration. His research interests focus on deep metal mining, mining-induced ground pressure hazard prevention and control, and ultra-deep shaft construction. His major contributions include the theory of advanced sequential dynamic pressure-relief control, rockburst-resistant energy-absorbing support technology, and an integrated technical system for deep mining-induced hazard prevention and control. His research outcomes have been applied in more than 40 mines, with several achievements evaluated as internationally leading. He has received more than 20 provincial and ministerial first- and second-prize awards. His academic outputs include 5 monographs and textbooks, 5 technical standards that he led in developing, and over 100 academic papers, including more than 50 indexed by SCI/EI.
