Xu Zhongyin was graduated in 1990 from Liaoning Technical University with a major in Mine Surveying. In 1998, he moved from Heilongjiang Coalfield Geological Exploration Company to Northeast University, where he has since been engaged in teaching, specializing in *Engineering Surveying* and *Deformation Monitoring* for the Surveying and Mapping Engineering program. He has published 6 academic papers, three of which have been indexed by SCI, EI, and ISTP. He has received one first prize and one second prize of Provincial/Ministerial Science and Technology Awards. His research interests include remote sensing-rock mechanics and engineering surveying. He has also undertaken the Shenyang Subway construction monitoring project as well as settlement monitoring for a number of high-rise buildings in Shenyang.
