Xu Yang is a Lecturer in the Department of Geology, School of Resources and Civil Engineering, Northeastern University. He received his B.S. degree in Resource Exploration Engineering from Xi’an University of Science and Technology (2013.9–2017.6). He then earned his M.S. degree in Earth Exploration and Information Technology from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) (2017.9–2020.6). In 2024, he obtained his Ph.D. degree in Mineral Prospecting and Exploration from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) (2020.9–2024.6). During his doctoral studies, he was conducted joint Ph.D. research supported by the Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) at the ITC Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation, University of Twente, the Netherlands (2022.11–2023.11), focusing on remote sensing geology. He has published 5 papers as first author in international journals, including International Journal of Applied Earth Observation and Geoinformation, among which 3 are SCI-indexed. He has led or participated in 6 research projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Young Scientist Program) and the National Key Research and Development Program of China.

Research Interests: Mathematical Geology, Remote Sensing Geology, Geoscience Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence.
