Wenyuan Gao, Ph.D., is a Lecturer and Master’s Supervisor in the Department of Geology, School of Resources and Civil Engineering, Northeastern University. His research focuses on genetic mineralogy, ore-deposit mineralogy, and the mechanisms governing the occurrence, migration, and enrichment of strategic critical metals. He also investigates mineral characterization at the micro- to nanoscale and the comprehensive utilization of mineral resources. He has led six research projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and has participated in more than ten national, provincial, ministerial, and industry-sponsored research projects. Dr. Gao has published over 20 SCI-indexed papers in journals such as American Mineralogist, Lithos, Ore Geology Reviews, Journal of Asian Earth Sciences, Science Advances, and Minerals, and holds six invention patents. He serves on several professional committees, including those of the Chinese Society for Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry, the Geological Academic Committee of the China Nonferrous Metals Society, and the Youth Working Committee of the Liaoning Geological Society. He is also a Youth Editorial Board Member of Mineral Exploration and an Associate Editor of Genetic Mineralogy. Dr. Gao has received several awards, including the Second Prize of the Liaoning Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, the Second Prize of the Green Mine Science and Technology Award, the Second Prize of the Science and Technology Award of the China Gold Association, and the Second Prize in the National Young University Teachers’ Geological Course Teaching Competition.
