Gao Rongzhen, associate professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Resources and Civil Engineering, Northeastern University. He started his bachelor and master degrees at the China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), and received the Ph.D. degree from the China University of Geosciences (Beijing) in 2018, followed by a two-year postdoctoral study at the China University of Geosciences (Beijing) and half-year visiting postdoctoral study at the University of Regina. He currently serves as deputy director of the professional committee for fundamental geology and mineral exploration of the Liaoning geological society, outstanding talent of Shenyang, and young editorial board members for journals of China Geology and Mineral Exploration. He has received honors of the outstanding instructor of the 7th National College Students' Geological Skills Competition and the second prize of the National University Young Teachers' Geological Course Teaching Competition.

He has long been engaged in research on the ore genesis and prospecting of low-temperature hydrothermal metal deposits, specializing in revealing the ore-forming processes of sediment-hosted base metal deposit, sandstone-type uranium deposit and epithermal gold deposit through geological and geochemical methods. He has led eight projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Youth Program), Liaoning Natural Science Foundation, China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and basic scientific research funds for central universities. He has also participated in key projects such as the Key Research and Development Project of Xinjiang Autonomous Region: "Key Technologies for Early Permian Gold and Nickel Mineralization Events and Prospecting Evaluation in the Tianshan Mountains and Adjacent Areas of Xinjiang", the National Science and Technology Support Program "Research on Metallogenic Environment and Metallogenic Laws in the Western Tianshan Mountains", and the Deep Earth Resources Exploration and Mining Key Project "Space-Time Material Structure and Metallogenic Processes of the Porphyry Metallogenic System". He has published over 20 academic papers in international and domestic mainstream journals of economic geology, including Ore Geology Reviews, Geological Journal, Journal of Asian Earth Sciences, and Mineral Deposits, with seven as the first author in SCI-indexed papers.
