Xin Zheng, female, born in Benxi, Liaoning Province in November 1978, holds a doctoral degree and is currently an Associate Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, as well as Deputy Director of the Safety Engineering Department at Northeastern University. She graduated from Northeastern University and joined the university as a faculty member in March 2004. In 2015, she was invited as a visiting scholar to the University of Tasmania, Australia, for one year of academic exchange. She currently delivers undergraduate courses such as Special Equipment Safety, Safety Ergonomics, Safety Evaluation Course Design, Industrial Production and Safety and Mine Safety, and postgraduate course Academic Scientific Writing. Her research interests mainly focus on intelligent risk assessment and prediction, hazard identification, control and safety evaluation, human error and system safety, physical workload and fatigue analysis, and emergency strategy research. She has presided over and participated in more than 40 vertical and horizontal scientific research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Key R&D Program, and fundamental research funds projects of the Ministry of Education, together with a series of enterprise safety technology consulting programs. She has published a number of high-level academic papers in journals including Ergonomics, Complex & Intelligent Systems, Biomedical Signal Processing and Control, International Journal of Hydrogen Energy and Journal of Northeastern University (Natural Science Edition).
