Tang Zhidong, a specially appointed researcher and doctoral supervisor at Northeastern University, has been selected for the China Association for Science and Technology Youth Talent Support Project (funded by the Association), the National Excellent Postdoctoral Program for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the Liaoning Province Excellent Youth Program, and the Northeastern University Excellent Youth Program. Mainly engaged in the research and development of innovative technologies and equipment for the efficient utilization of complex and difficult to select mineral resources, as well as the research on the green and clean utilization of iron containing solid waste resources. Led 17 projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation General and Youth Projects, National Key R&D Program Subtopics, Deep National Science and Technology Major Special Subtopics, and Liaoning Province Excellent Youth Projects. Participated in 2 National Natural Science Foundation Key Projects, 2 General Projects, 2 National Key R&D Program Projects, and more than 10 enterprise projects; Published over 30 SCI papers as the first/corresponding author, including 2 ESI hot and highly cited papers, and applied for 23 national invention patents; Received one second prize in natural science from Liaoning Province, two first prizes from the China Metallurgical Mining Association, a prize for excellence in the National Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, a first prize in the Liaoning Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, an excellent doctoral thesis from Liaoning Province, the 2025 China Mineral Processing Excellent Youth Thesis Award.
