Yongsheng Sun, born in October 1986 in Jinan, Shandong Province, is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars, a Leading Scientific and Technological Talent of the Ministry of Natural Resources of China, a Young Scientist under the National Key Research and Development Program of China, and a recipient of the Fok Ying Tung Young Teachers Foundation Award. He has also been selected as a Young Top Talent under the “Xingliao Talents Program” of Liaoning Province. He currently serves as Director of the Department of Mineral Engineering and Director of the Liaoning Provincial Key Laboratory of Mineral Processing Technology. His research primarily focuses on mineral reconstruction enhanced separation theory and technology, the clean and efficient utilization of mineral resources, and the intelligent (AI-driven) design of flotation reagents. He has developed several original technologies, including phase transformation and short-process high-efficiency separation technologies, which have been successfully implemented in mining enterprises such as Ansteel Group, Jiuquan Iron and Steel Group, and mining operations in Zambia, generating significant economic and social benefits. He has published more than 100 high-quality academic papers, been granted over 40 Chinese invention patents, and authored two monographs supported by the National Publishing Fund of China. He has received six national and provincial/ministerial-level scientific and technological awards, one Special Prize and two First Prizes for Teaching Achievement in Liaoning Province, and has led the formulation of seven industry and association standards, several of which were selected as representative industrial application cases by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. He has also received the China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Award, the Top Ten Outstanding Young Scientific and Technological Talents Award of Liaoning Province, and a nomination for the Young Scientist Award for National Strengthening.
