Wengang Liu, who is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Northeastern University and was selected for the National Youth Talent Program, serves as Vice Dean of Solid Waste Industrial Technology Innovation Institute of Liaoning Province. Recently, he focuses primarily on the development and application of efficient flotation reagents, as well as the resource utilization of mine solid waste. By this, a computer-simulation-based design method for highly selective collectors was proposed, the influence of substituent on flotation performance of cationic collector was elucidated, and various high-efficiency flotation reagents with successful industrial commercialization was developed. He has directed over 30 provincial and ministerial projects, published more than 280 academic papers, authored 5 textbooks and monographs, secured 19 authorized invention patents, and honored with 7 provincial scientific and technological awards.
